What does the guided tour in Klimapark 2469 include?

Klimaparken is an outdoor experience area located approximately 1850 meters above sea level in Lom municipality.

A guided tour in the climate park consists of: A walk of approximately 1 kilometer along the walkway over Juvflye and the permafrost. Here the guide talks about weather and climate, geology, wildlife, flora and history.

It is about 2 kilometers to walk there and back.

The highlight of the tour is the ice tunnel. Dating of the ice shows that it is a full 7600 years old, and the oldest ice recorded on mainland Norway. The ice tunnel was designed and illuminated by artist and sculptor Peder Istad, and was carved and shaped by hand.

The tour takes approximately 2 hours.

It is important to dress warmly on a guided tour in Klimapark 2469. We recommend: a warm jacket and trousers, an advantage if they are wind and waterproof a hat and mittens wool underwear shoes suitable for mountain hiking, such as hiking boots or winter boots sunglasses for the walk along the walkway.
